Moncharm | Château Angelus 2007
"We at Moncharm this this is an an exemplary vintage wine of the Bordeaux variety, The Angelus 2007 has a lighter colour tone than the 2008 and 2009. The bouquet is well balanced and milder than the more recent vintages. It has fragrances of cranberry, raspberries and hints of vanilla. On the palate, it has a crisp acidity initially and a medium bodied texture. The freshness is admirable with good fruit content and hints of chocolatey notes, and a short finish with hints of burnt spices and tobacco. At Moncharm we believe this wine is best for drinking when it’s young."
Chateau Angelus wines are produced under the strict supervision of the de Bouard family who has been in the wine business since centuries. This vintage wine earned its name and logo from a daily event, the wine makers and the people working at the Bordeaux wine yards could listen to bells from three local churches, which gave it the distinct logo. They somehow felt that this spirit is blessed.
Saint-Émilion is equipped with the most diverse terroir in the Bordeaux region. The vineyards are planted on the clay-rich soil which is ideal for the growth of Merlot that is a prime component of all wines produced here. There are two Premier Grand Crus Classés (A), Château Cheval-Blanc and Château Ausone and thirteen Premier Grand Crus Classés (B) in this region.
