Moncharm | Château Angelus 2009
"Moncharm presents arguably one of the leading wines of the the Angelus range produced so far, the Chateau Angelus 2009 is an unmatchable blend of 60% Merlot and 40 % Cabernet Franc. It has a classic dark colour which unfurls on the glass with a purple hue. The bouquet is an aromatic amalgamation of blueberry liqueur, spring flower and graphite. On the palate, it has a delightful velvety texture which is full-bodied and packed with the notes of incense. Angelus 2009 has pleasant silky tannins, low acidity and astonishing purity, depth and texture. This wine is already consumable, but connoisseurs can keep it for 20 to 30 years for better flavors. "
Chateau Angelus wines are produced under the strict supervision of the de Bouard family who has been in the wine business since centuries. This vintage wine earned its name and logo from a daily event, the wine makers and the people working at the Bordeaux wine yards could listen to bells from three local churches, which gave it the distinct logo. They somehow felt that this spirit is blessed.
Saint-Émilion is equipped with the most diverse terroir in the Bordeaux region. The vineyards are planted on the clay-rich soil which is ideal for the growth of Merlot that is a prime component of all wines produced here. There are two Premier Grand Crus Classés (A), Château Cheval-Blanc and Château Ausone and thirteen Premier Grand Crus Classés (B) in this region.
