Moncharm | Château Brane Cantenac 2005
In Moncharm's opinion this is undisputably the best Brane-Cantenac so far, the Brane-Cantenac 2005 is a premium quality second growth wine from Margaux. It has an elegant ink blue colour which leaves behind little legs of plum color on swirling the glass. The bouquet is extremely vibrant with a marriage of aromas like licorice, herbs, camphor, cherries, black currant and a memory of plums and blackberry. It has a rich palate with medium body and silken texture, and a well-balanced taste which is excellently concentrated justifying the Margaux appellation. Though this wine is perfectly approachable after a few hours of decantation, still if you want to age, it can age easily for 20 years.
The Brane Cantenac estate is located in the Cantenac village in Margaux. This estate maintains the level of excellence right from the vineyards, where grade A grapes are produced through organic methods. The distillery also uses a mix of ultra-modern and classic techniques to ensure a perfect balance and texture.
The southern most region in the Médoc’s appellations, Margaux is renowned for its leading wine labels. It has a gravel-rich soil which facilitates excellent drainage and promote deep root development of the vines. The leading labels of this region like Margaux are unique due to the wines of balanced concentration, intense aromas and unsurpassable finesse.
