Moncharm | Château Carruades de Lafitte 2005
Château Angelus 2007 is one of Moncharm's premium vintages. It has a royal Dark colour which unfurls into an inky purple hue on the glass. The bouquet is a coalescence of sweet aromas of black fruits, sea salt and black cherries. It has a tannic palate with a balanced concentration and deep memories of toasty black fruits, black pepper and spices. A masculine and chic fresh wine, this one will be good to drink even after 10-15 years.
Chateau Carruades is the second label vintage wine by the phenomenal Chateau Lafite-Rothschild. While the first label the great Lafite is aged in entirely new oak barrels, Carruades is aged in the barrels in which Lafite has aged for a year. This gives a point of distinction to Carruades.
Neighbouring Saint-Estephe and Saint-Julien, the Pauliac region is a known for its exemplary wines and vineyards. It boasts three first growth estates and many legendary winemakers including Châteaux Lafite-Rothschild, Mouton Rothschild and Latour. It has a gravel-rich soil which allows the vine roots to reach deeper than all the other regions in Medoc, this adds an efficacious quality to the fruit and leads to complex and concentrated wines.
