Moncharm | Château Palmer 2006
Made from a unique blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 34% Merlot, the Palmer 2006 is an excellent vintage. It has a stunning dark purple colour which comes with an enchanting bouquet of sweet aromas like liquorice, black currants, underbrush and oak with interludes of floral notes. This powerful label is medium-bodied and brilliantly structured. Moncharm's believes it will be approachable in five to six years and will easily last for 25 to 30 years.
The estate was started by the famous Charles Palmer, who was known for his military victory. Charles fell in love with Bordeaux and bought this property from a beautiful widow, Marie De Gascq. Mr Charles and Mr Grey, the authorized representative, gave a lot of efforts towards developing the property and in increasing the reputation of their produce among the wealthy connoisseurs. The estate was bought by brothers Isaac and Emile Péreire in 1853. Against all the efforts put by the brothers, there was not enough time to get the estate to first growth status in the 1855 classification. It earned the Third Growth status, but still it has made its position among the leading wine labels of Bordeaux.
The southern most region in the Médoc’s appellations, Margaux is renowned for its leading wine labels. It has a gravel-rich soil which facilitates excellent drainage and promote deep root development of the vines. The leading labels of this region like Margaux are unique due to the wines of balanced concentration, intense aromas and unsurpassable finesse.
