Moncharm | Château Petit Mouton 2010
One of the most fabulous wines, Petit Mouton 2010 is magnificiently opulent, round and fleshy. Made from a unique blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest chiefly Merlot, this label has a natural alcohol content of 14% because of the high Merlot presence. It has an elegant dark ruby colour with a bouquet of creme de cassis, tobacco, cedar and dash of chocolate and spice notes. The label should drink well for at least two decades.
A Premier Cru Classé of the Bordeaux region, Château Mouton Rothschild is one of the world's greatest wines. The estate is owned by the Baroness Philippine de Rothschild. The vineyard is spread over a huge 205 acres area producing premium quality Cabernet Sauvignon (77%), Merlot (11%), Cabernet Franc (10%) and the rest Petit Verdot (2%).
Neighbouring Saint-Estephe and Saint-Julien, the Pauliac region is a known for its exemplary wines and vineyards. It boasts three first growth estates and many legendary winemakers including Châteaux Lafite-Rothschild, Mouton Rothschild and Latour. It has a gravel-rich soil which allows the vine roots to reach deeper than all the other regions in Medoc, this adds an efficacious quality to the fruit and leads to complex and concentrated wines.
