Moncharm | Sassicaia 2006
The 2006 Sassicaia has all qualities to be counted among one of the best Tuscan vintages according to Moncharm. This label was blessed by the nature as it received the perfect balance of initial harsh sun and the moderate august whether which is instrumental in the growth of the wine. The label has a perfect marriage of fragrance, tannins and ripeness. The bouquet offers the enchanting aromas of smoked dark fruit, leather, menthol and tar which is woven on the layer of earthiness. It has a playfully long finish that is creamy and silky. This label is just made to perfection. Although, this wine is ready, Moncharm would recommend this wine can be kept in a cellar till 2031.
The Name 'Sassicaia'means 'a Place full of stones,' nothing can define the gravel rich terror of the Tenuta San Guido estate in a word. This terroir is ideal for the growth of Bordeaux variety of grapes. The vineyards were recently expanded to 75 hectares in 1960. With the expansion, came some state of the art machineries like special steel vats with temperature control and the latest French oak barriques
