Moncharm | Screaming Eagle 2011
The Screaming Eagle 2011 is a Remarkable blend of chiefly Cabernet Sauvignon (75%) and the rest merlot and Cabernet Franc in equal quantities. This blend has flamboyant ruby colour acompanied by an exquisite bouquet of flavours of liquorice camphor, spices, black currant and oak. It has an impressive texture which is dense and rich. Moncharm would say the key feature of this label is it's early aproachability. The wine will easily be at its best for 10 to 15 years.
One of smallest, yet significant estate in Napa Valley, the Screaming Eagle estate is efficiently run by the current proprietor Stan Kroenke. The tiny estate sits on the gravelly hillside of the Oakville Appellation with the vineyard spread over the slope with perfect drainage for the growth of premium quality Merlot,Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The distribution system employed by the estate makes the wine rare as most of the wine is sold to the consumers directly through the mailing system.
